Donating Materials to the Southdale Library:

How and when to donate:
The Southdale Library will accept up to one (1) book truck of donated materials (approximately 4 grocery bags) without prior notice.  Items can be brought to the Service Desk on the second floor.  Staff are not available to carry materials from your vehicle.

Larger quantities will not be accepted unless an appointment has been made to arrange a date and time for the delivery.  Contact the Southdale Friends Liaison to make arrangements:

What we do accept:
HCL accepts donations of books and AV materials that are in good condition, with clean pages and covers and intact bindings.

What we do not accept:
The library does not accept books with mold, handwriting, or highlighting; magazines, Reader's Digest condensed books, or textbooks.  The library reserves the right not to accept other materials on a case-by-case basis.

If I donate this to you, can you tell me how much it is worth for IRS purposes?
By law, we cannot determine the value of a donation for IRS purposes. We can supply you with a letter that acknowledges the donation you made to the Library.
