Library service has been available to the Eden Prairie community since 1924, when the first library in Eden Prairie opened in the new Consolidated School. After it closed in 1950, the community was served by the Hennepin County Library bookmobile until 1973 and then a reading center until 1986, when a community library opened. In 2004, the library moved to its current location. It serves residents of west Bloomington as well as Eden Prairie.

Teens in grades 6-12 can have up to $10 in fines and fees taken off their library card in October at Hennepin County libraries.
Eden Prairie Library is offering a variety of events for teens this fall, including a book club and a chess club.
Hennepin County Library readers now have access to more new and popular adult, teen and children's eBooks through the 3M Cloud Library.
In addition to checking out books, movies and music, you can now check out iPads for up to two hours of in-library use at 10 locations.
