New Law Library hours and classes

New Law Library hours

Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, Hennepin County Anne W. Grande Law Library will close at 5 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.

The new hours will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Law Library is closed Saturday and Sunday.

This decision was made after staff documented use patterns for most of 2016 and noted that very few people visit or call the Law Library after 5 p.m.

Options for communicating with the Law Library when it is closed include using email ( and voicemail (612-348-3022).

New Continuing Legal Education (CLE) series

The Law Library is pleased to launch a new CLE series that will offer classes every other month: September, November, January, March and May.

Each CLE will be one credit. These CLEs are free to attend and no registration is needed.

This year, the series will be geared towards topics that judges in the 4th Judicial District have indicated would be particularly helpful for law clerks. However, these CLEs are open to everyone.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22: Efficient Legal Writing presented by Mary Trevor
  • Wednesday, Nov. 16: Legal Research presented by Ed Carroll and Janelle Beitz

CLEs will be held in the Government Center Auditorium (room C-2350 ), 12:15-1:15 p.m. (directions)
