Artists selected for Webber Park Library

The Art Selection Committee for Webber Park Library recently selected artists Ta-coumba T. Aiken and Christopher-Aaron Deanes for the vestibule areas and Michael Sweere for the wall behind the service desk.

The role of the committee is to select, commission and facilitate the installation of public art at the new Webber Park Library as stipulated in the Hennepin County Library Board Policy on Commissioned Public Art.

Upcoming public meetings

Webber Park patrons are invited to talk with artists Christopher-Aaron Deanes and Ta-coumba T. Aiken about their upcoming enamel project for the new library. Patrons are welcome to share their visual voice at three upcoming drop-in sessions at Webber Park Library, 4203 Webber Pkwy.

  • Tuesday, March 21, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 25, 9-11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, March 28, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Tin containers needed for art

One of the artists is collecting tins from the community to use for a mural he will be creating for our new library. Your donated old cookie, tea, biscuit or other colorful tin containers may become part of the mural. A collection bin is now available at the library, 4203 Webber Pkwy.
