Windows XP: File Management

This course provides an overview of the Windows Explorer. Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to organize and keep track of their files by using a hierarchical file system. Participants will use this file system to create folders and subfolders and then move and copy files into their new locations. In addition, they will learn to rename files, identify and apply functions on the Standard toolbar, and create shortcuts to their desktop.

The first two hours will be spent using a step-by-step approach to cover the items from a prepared handout. The third hour of the session will be used as a file management workshop, supervised by the instructor, to give participants the opportunity to directly apply what they have learned to their own folders and files on their P: drive.

This class would be an excellent choice for staff who need hands-on assistance in organizing files and deleting old out-dated files.
