POLICY

Hennepin County Library provides lists of books and media to meet the information and recreation needs of all ages. These lists are updated regularly to provide current information on available titles. Lists are produced or purchased according to the most efficient use of staff and budget resources to meet long term and immediate demand.

Types of Booklists:
Hennepin County Library produces five categories of booklists. System booklists will be annotated. Exceptions include lists such as If you like… lists.

  1. System-produced and distributed lists. Examples include:
  2. Electronic lists. Examples include:
  3. Public Information Office (PIO) purchased and acquired lists. Examples include:
  4. Agency-produced lists, which are a quick response to customer-driven needs. Examples include:
  5. Agency Notebooks. Notebooks or files of booklists at reference desk, used in-house.
    Notebooks include lists from a variety of sources.
