POLICY Mission Statement The Children’s Readmobile: Bringing the library to the early childhood community. Roles Primary Role The primary role of the Children’s Readmobile is to provide early learning and literacy experiences through programming and materials for children in childcare and other early childhood development programs. Readmobile staff also introduce the use of library resources, model storytime techniques, and encourage childcare providers, parents, and teachers to read to young children. The Readmobile breaks down barriers, delivering library experiences in an innovative way to those who may not otherwise have access to them. Marketing Role Maintaining and increasing the visibility and involvement of the library in the community is part of the mission of the Hennepin County Library. The Children’s Readmobile is a vital part of that marketing effort. With its striking graphics and mobility, the Readmobile brings the library to community events, parades, fairs, and conferences in a dynamic way.
