POLICY

Internal publications (e.g., the Staff Newsletter) will not include editor, artist, etc. External publications (Events & Issues, etc.) may include editor, artist, etc.
Sales: Pricing
The price of occasional library publications offered for sale will be determined by the following method:
1. One hour Senior Librarian hourly salary (Step 4) plus 1/2 hour Principal Office Specialist hourly salary (Step 4;) multiplied by number of pages equals production costs.
2. Production costs divided by anticipated sales plus $.05 per page copying charge equals cost per publication to which is added $1.50 to cover postage and handling (round to nearest dollar).
The subscription price for serial publications should be determined by the appropriate Division Manager utilizing production costs associated with the individual publication. Quantity discounts are to be applied in the following manner:
10 or more copies of same title = 10% discount
10 or more items (variety of titles) = 10% discount
All pricing is to be approved by the Facilities & Finance (F & F) manager prior to advertising or otherwise making publications available for sale.
Sales: Advertising/Announcing
The Public Information Office (PIO) will be responsible for preparing the final advertising/announcement copy for all materials offered for sale.
Initial input for the copy is to be provided by the staff responsible for developing the product. Suggestions for where to advertise/announce are encouraged; however, PIO will make the final determination.
Orders for occasional publications should be sent to the Facilities & Finance office. Order for serial publications should be sent to the originating section/division secretary.
Sales: Accounting
All occasional publications will be handled by F&F/Administration. F&F Administration will be responsible for receiving orders, ensuring an adequate supply of publications, mailing products, billing, and associated accounting activities.
