Hennepin County Library promotes full and equal access to information and ideas, and provides an environment conducive to learning. Customers are expected to follow these guidelines when using the library:
- Respect fellow library customers and staff
- Allow others to use the library safely
- Respect library property and safeguard your personal items
- Monitor your children, keep them safe, pick them up before the library closes
- Follow the Internet Public Use Policy
No person shall engage in behavior that disturbs others or interferes with library functions, including:
- Any illegal, unsafe or other conduct that negatively affects other people in the library
- Loud, unreasonable or disruptive noise or activity that disturbs others
- Abusive or disrespectful conduct
- Disruptive cell phone use
- Eating food or having uncovered drink containers
- Skateboarding on library property
- Leaving children under age 8 unattended in the library
- Violation of Hennepin County and library policies, including the Internet Public Use Policy
Failure to follow this policy may result in eviction from the library, and may include a trespass order/or arrest.
When necessary, the Library will refer inappropriate conduct to the proper authorities for legal action in accordance with Minnesota Statutes §§609.541, 609.595, and 609.72.
