One of the primary benefits of the Dynix system is the consolidation of information related to each patron who uses the Library. Current loans, titles on reserve, special messages, fines, bills, outstanding overdue materials, and other charges are immediately available for review at any circulation point.

Every effort should be made to ensure that each registered borrower has only one patron record and one barcoded library card. When it is found that a patron has more than one record, the staff should take the necessary steps to determine the correct one and to prevent use of the others.

In addition, a patron who owes $50.00 or more in bills and charges is denied both borrowing privileges and a new HCL card, in-house or via a MELSA application.
