RETURNED MATERIALS POLICY

Patrons are responsible for the condition and return of all borrowed library materials.

All AV materials will be inspected for damages and missing contents prior to CHECKIN.

Based on CMS' overall view of the collection, its use, and its condition, it was resolved that Circulation desk staff are not expected to look for internal damage in each book returned prior to CHECKIN.

The hidden Dynix command "LP" (Last Patron) may be used in searching to discover the last patron who checked out an item as long as the item is still in a "being shelved" status. The last patron information is tied to each agency's "being shelved" timeline. This patron information may then be used to retrieve missing AV contents.

HCL POLICY IS TO ACCEPT THE PATRON'S WORD WHEN QUESTIONS ARISE REGARDING BILLS OR CHARGES.
