LIBRARY CARD APPLICATIONS FOR USE WITH CHILDREN IN GROUPS
Children are not required by the Hennepin County Library to have parental permission or signature when registering for a library card. This policy is also in effect for children in school or child care groups.
It is the responsibility of the school or childcare center staff or child card provider to inform parents that children will be visiting the library and may be checking out materials and also to provide permission slips for the visit. When making arrangements for school or child care visits, library staff will ask teachers or child care providers to notify parents that the children will be receiving library cards.
The registration forms completed by the teacher or childcare provider are sufficient verification of the information required to issue a permanent library card to each child in the group.
