  • Please Ask Us if you have any questions.

Using a kit

  • A kit is checked out to one patron who is responsible for all of the materials.
  • The fine for an overdue kit is 30 cents per day, and fees for missing books will be charged to the patron who checked out the kit.
  • Kits are checked out for six weeks and may not be renewed.

Getting a kit

  • If the kit you want is currently checked out, you can place a hold on it. The pick up location can be any Hennepin County library.
  • To place a kit on hold, search for the title in the catalog or use the lists below to browse for kits.
  • To pause or cancel kits on hold, log in to your account. If you un-pause a kit while another patron has it checked out, it will not be sent to you until it has been returned.
  • Whether a kit is checked out or checked in, you may place a hold on it and have it delivered to any library.
  • If a kit is not checked out, you may pick it up at Southdale Library. To confirm that the kit is available, call Southdale Library to have staff hold the kit for you.

Returning a kit

  • Please ensure that all copies of the book are in the kit before returning it.
  • Kits must be returned to a Hennepin County library service desk during open hours and cannot be returned in a book drop.
