New App for Freegal Music Downloads
Getting free music just got easier. The Library’s Freegal service, which offers up to three free music downloads per week from the vast Sony Music Catalog, has released a mobile app for iOS and Android. Get it from the iTunes Store or Google Play Store. More info.

New Source for Audiobooks More downloadable audiobooks are now available through OneClickdigital. Hennepin County residents can download titles from popular authors like John Sanford, Cormac McCarthy, and Jodi Picoult. Many titles are always available – regardless how many copies are checked out. Hennepin County Library Receives Youthprise Grant
Youthprise, founded by The McKnight Foundation to increase youths' learning opportunities beyond the classroom, has awarded the Library a $20,000 grant. The grant will support afterschool programs at the Franklin Teen Center, including the Teen Tech Squad. More info.

'Picturing Peace' Photo Exhibit
'Picturing Peace' Photo Exhibit A photo exhibit at three libraries this summer and three this fall features the work of more than a dozen Minneapolis youth. The exhibit is part of a community collaborative project that explores young people's reflections and hopes for peace and safety in their communities. Related book lists: adult and youth.

This celebration commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. Library programs will feature music, poetry, and stories of freedom, a showing of PBS' "Slavery and the Making of America," and a discussion moderated by a storyteller and history professor.

Special Collections Hours
For the convenience of library patrons, Special Collections at Minneapolis Central Library is expanding its hours by being open through the lunch hour (1-2 p.m.). Hours are now 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and the first and third Saturdays of the month. This is an 18 percent increase in its open hours.

Last Chance: Baseball Exhibit

Hennepin County Library uses Bisphenol A (BPA)-free receipts. The Library requires its vendors to supply BPA-free thermal paper, so you don’t need to worry about handling or recycling date due receipts.
