Cover ArtMoneyball : the art of winning an unfair game
by Lewis, Michael
Did you like the movie? The book is better! It's hard to believe that a book all about the "secret of success" in baseball would be so interesting - but it truly is.   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 8:13PM

Cover ArtDigging to America : a novel
by Tyler, Anne.
Tyler is one of my favorite authors of all time. This story examines what it means to be American by following two women and their families. Her newest book should be out in 2012.   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 7:51PM

Cover ArtPrecious objects : a story of diamonds, family, and a way of life
by Oltuski, Alicia
The author's father has worked in New York's Diamond District his whole life. She personalizes her factual account of the diamond industry-both past and present- by including her father's amazing stories.   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 7:46PM

Cover ArtMy latest grievance
by Lipman, Elinor.
A Booklist reviewer said it best: Lipman "known for her wit, sharp societal observations, and lovely command of language--has created a novel of warmth, wisdom, love, and redemption that is funny and fun to read". I totally agree!   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 7:35PM

Cover ArtThe language of flowers : a novel
by Diffenbaugh, Vanessa
Best book I've read in years. Victoria relays her life, both past (growing up neglected in the foster care system) and present (struggling at 18 to become a functioning adult). She uses the language of flowers (the Victorian meaning of each)to try to communicate. Beautifully written; Victoria grabbed my heart.   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 7:32PM

Cover ArtLucky stiff
by Coonts, Deborah
This was hilarious - and such an unusual characters made the mystery very intriguing.   posted Jan 17, 2012 at 7:22PM
