by Carey, Lisa I have read of all Lisa Carey's books and all work like bits of twine. Each strand holds its own meaning and power and as you keep going through the book, the bits of twine start to twist and turn until you end up with a thick piece of rope when you read the last word on the last page. She dips through many different perspectives through the present and the past yet it all comes together beautifully in the end that you can never get enough. posted Jun 23, 2008 at 9:33AM

by Carey, Lisa I could not put this book down! This has become my favorite book of all time because it is so poignant and it gives you a hard slap of reality at the same time. It is about a two children and how their lives are forever affected after their older brother has gone missing, as they both try to find their places in society by looking forward as well as looking back in the past. posted Jun 23, 2008 at 9:31AM

These are the books that have ultimately affected me emotionally because the writing itself is beautiful as well as the content that I feel should be shared for those who love reading about people and their interactions rather than plot. |
