by Rowling, J. K. I think this is one of the best Harry Potter books. This one and the second book are my favorites. I like this one the best because it has lots of action and it's very dramatic. I like books that have people trying to kill each other. It is much more complicated as there are more books. There are more characters in the 5th book than the other ones. This is my favorite Harry Potter book. posted May 26, 2004 at 1:00PM

by Oppel, Kenneth I think this is a good book to read during the summer for ages 8+. This book is about a young silverwing bat named Shade, in search of his father. Then he discovers a mysterious human building containing a vast forest. Could his father be there? Read this book to find out more. This book is probably rated as my favorite. Hope you check it out soon at your local library! posted Jun 14, 2004 at 3:09PM

by Gauthier, Gail, 1953- I think the book is a very humoris book. It's about 2 boys who are trouble-makers and they sit on both sides of the school's role-model.That is a very bad thing to Jasper, the role-model because he can't cocentrate on his work. posted May 9, 2006 at 11:08AM

by Avi, 1937- The True Confessions of Charlottle Doyle was a fairly good book. It tells the story of Charlotte, who is traveling home to the U.S. on a ship full of men sailors. I thought this book was good because of it's truely exciting plot and vivid descriptions. I also thought that this book was a little weak towards the end. I didn't like the ending at all. All around a reader will find The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle to be a truly great read. posted Jun 28, 2004

by Smith, Betty, 1896-1972 I thought this was a great book. The basic story line is about a girl growing up in Brooklyn, New York during the mid 20th century. One of the best parts of this book is that you really get to know the characters and everyone they come in contact with. There isn't a lot of heart pounding action, but it's not necessary since the characters and dialogue is so good! posted Apr 9, 2004

This is by far one of the very best books I've ever read. If you like fantasy books, you'll love this one. Only a really good book can make me cry, and this one did. A lot. It's kinda hard to get into, but when you do, It's worth it. Try getting it on tape or CD first, but I really hope you read it. I wish I could give this book 10 stars, but the highest I can rate it is 5. posted Jun 15, 2005

by Rose, Marcia When I first saw this book I was expecting some sort of cheasy storyline merely using the same characters as the awesome TV show. I was actually pleasantly surprised. If you like the TV show, you'll like the book because the book is closely based off acutal episodes of the TV show. [Series: Gilmore Girls] posted Apr 9, 2004

This was a very interesting/weird book. It's sort of Sicence fiction about a group of teens who get traped in a building composed only of millions of stairs. This is a really good book to read if you are interested in psychology since it focuses on conditioning these teens to preform certain tasks inside the house of stairs. posted Apr 9, 2004

The grl has FINNALLY found the files that she needs to escape those nasty people frum sending her to the mental institute, but is it to late? find out in this AWESOME and suspenceful book, The Fire. Also like The Fog and The Snow, this book is more for the dudettes than for the dudes but I recomend it to EVERYONE caus this book RULES!!!!!! posted Apr 9, 2004

by Ferris, Jean, 1939- Alexander, or Sandy, had lived a fairytale childhood. He lived with his two multimillionaire parents in a mansion in the country. But when his to crazy uncles poison his parents, leaving them in a comas, Sandy has to try to find a way to protect the family fortune from his two coniving relatives. I thought this book was eceedingly well written. Although the plot is quite unrealalistic, it is also real enough as so you can relate to it. i would definatly read this book about a boy, a chicken, and the Walnuts. posted Jun 22, 2004

by Draper, Sharon M. Romiette and Julio is an interesting modern day version of Romio and Juliette. It adresses issues of mixing races, and gangs. Although this book was very good all around, there were some things I didn't like. Some of the diolauge was unrealalistic, that I don't think real people would really say. Also, some repetitive wording made the book boring at times. posted Jun 9, 2004

by Anderson, Laurie Halse This is possibly the best book I have ever read. It fallows Melinda, a Freshman that no one likes. You learn of her devistating secret that she dosn't have the courage to share with anyone. And by the end of the book, you find why it is so important to speak. posted Jun 5, 2004

by Atkins, Catherine Basically I found this book to be very depressing. It's about a boy who returns home after being kidnapped and how he deals with all of the pain and abuse that happened while he was with his kidnapper. posted Apr 9, 2004

by West, Stanley Gordon, 1932- Finding Laura Buggs is a wonderful book about a teen growing up in the metro area in the 1950's. This book will entrall you as a deep mystery enfolds, and a girl goes in search of her mother. This is my all time favorite book. Readers will be engrossed in this thrilling, can't-put-it-down book, and love the show-stopping ending. posted Aug 17, 2004

by Lowry, Lois The author describes this book a companion to "The Giver." Both books are about a teen who is living in the future and discovering surprising things about the society in which they live. But this book never actually mentions any of the characters or events that took place in "The Giver." Although this was a really good book in my opinion it's not as good as "The Giver." posted Apr 9, 2004

by Haddix, Margaret Peterson I thought the plot of the book was really interesting: a woman on the verge of death takes a new medicine that causes her to grow younger instead of older. However the book relies too much on the gimiky plot line and the is sometimes very predictable. posted Apr 9, 2004

by Tolkien, J. R. R. 1892-1973 This was the absoulute BEST book I have ever read. I laughed and cried and and gasped and sighed and overall thought this was the greatest. It is a hard book to get into, and Mr. Tolkien uses a lot of big words, but this book is very worth your time. Just read half of the first one and you're totally hooked. When my friend first told me about these books I thought they sounded boring, but they are DEFINATLY NOT!!!! Read them now! posted Jul 18, 2005

by Matas, Carol, 1949- This book is about a Southern girl(Hannah)living during the Civil War who firmly believes in slavery, and thinks that the Union is wrong to try to stop it. The Union forces her family to move out of their home because they are Jews. Hannah is outraged at how her family is treated. Many people try to convince her that treating slaves harshly is as bad as treating Jews differently, but Hannah still insists that it's different. I don't want to give away what happenens at the end, but I can say that I really enjoyed this book, and that I think it discusses some very important views. posted Jul 25, 2004

by Fitzgerald, F. Scott 1896-1940 I really liked the characters in this book and the subtle humor the author used. The setting (the 1920s) was also very interesting. Fitzgerald made some great commentary about society and life during that timeperiod. posted Apr 9, 2004

She needs to get away somehow, but how? will she go crazy? find that out for your self and read this book, its also, like its partner more for the dudettes than for the dudes (grls than for the guys, but I say its good either way! by Pierce, Tamora This is the best series I have ever read!! I love how the main character, Alanna, can do everything she sets her mind to, whether it is becoming the first woman knight, or learning how to be the best swordsman in all of Tortall(her country.) She is brave, talented, and an all around great person!

by Spinner, Stephanie The book Quiver is an interesting one. It tells the story of the huntress Atalanta, who is ordered by her father to find a husband to produce an heir. But her devotion to the Gods leads her to make a impossible bargain. For the most part, I thought this book was very good. I espacially enjoyed the conversations variuos Gods have with one another throughout the book. The ending to the book was very abrupt, but also very smart on the author's part. Teens will really enjoy Quiver. posted Jun 28, 2004
