by Moyers, Bill D. a quick read on a very dangerous mindset that threatens us all. posted Mar 13, 2008 at 11:42AM

by Motion Picture Association of America this documentary is very eye opening, well made and only 98 minutes long. a particularly interesting part is where it talks about how the rating system judges violence in a movie versus how it judges sex in a movie (and especially sex partners of the same gender). i’ll never look at the rating of a movie the same way again. posted Feb 1, 2008 at 12:54PM

by Fleischman, Paul great book for kids and adults about reclaiming land and creating a garden where you wouldn't expect it. a wonderful look at the beauty that people in the city can create when they come together. if you want to learn more about this concept do a search of "guerrilla gardening" on the internet. posted Nov 29, 2007 at 3:47PM

by McBay, Aric the best book i’ve read on peak oil yet! peak oil is coming and this book helps you get prepared. a great book to have around when civilization starts crashing down. also, aric debunks the whole deal that "technology will save us", because... it wont. very usable low-tech ways to live. highly recommended. posted Oct 12, 2007 at 2:03PM

by Thayer, Samuel highly recommended edible wild plant guide for our area. i especially like this book because samuel does not include any plants in here that he doesn’t have personal experience with- while looking through other guides he has discovered the authors making errors with whether things are edible and how to identify them... he says this is evidence that they haven’t eaten the plants before. filled with lots of vibrant photographs. easy to read. posted Aug 17, 2007 at 3:23PM
