I’m not big on historical fiction, but I didn’t realize that that was what this was until I read the Epilouge. This story is an amazing book, made even better when you find yourself in an intense section of the story, only to take a break, get up, look outside and relax and remember it is just a book. Still it is hard to imagine someone going through the tradegies that our stowaway faced. This is a great read for a day when you’re sick but can’t sleep.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 6:26PM

This book is definatly above all the rest. Read this book for yourself and you will be carried into an imaginary land filled with badgers and mice. I love how descriptive Jacques is in this novel. What a great book! It sucks you in and puts you right there. How could anyone live thru all that? Incredible and true. I have much respect for how it must have been to live in that time, just to survive, much less thrive and be true to yourself.   posted Jun 12, 2006 at 7:40PM
