My almost-two-year-old loves this book with its simple yet dramatic narrative, and of course, the fire truck. This is the first story book that keeps his interest and focus all the way through: The Little Black Cat gets scared and won’t come down from the roof, oh no! My 16-month-old can’t get enough of this book. The first time we read it to him, he started dancing as if he were listening to music. He loves the rhythm and repetition, and the pictures of people dancing. It is the first book that has engaged him so much. We read it several times every day.
