A man's guide to a civilized divorce : how to divorce with grace, a little class
Margulies, Sam.
Adult Nonfiction 301.427 M
From Library Journal:
This book targets men who have children, have been married for a number of years, and are considering divorce. Lawyer, teacher, and mediation practitioner Margulies (Getting Divorced Without Ruining Your Life) covers the current law, coming to the decision to split, moving out, dividing assets, structuring child support and alimony, and conducting negotiations. He uses specific examples of issues that often arise and demonstrates ways to work through them that are designed to reduce acrimony and help create equitable solutions. There is an excellent chapter on budgeting and its use in determining support levels and another with a thorough treatment of how mediation works. The author gives equal time to legal, practical, and emotional issues and offers advice that projects common sense and fairness. Recommended for most public libraries.-Joan Pedzich, Harris Beach LLP, Rochester, NY (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
