I am Farah's Mentor, Alyce. Farah has had a wonderful year and has been getting requests to speak at schools. The students have loved meeting her and hearing more about her story. We are thrilled to know that her book is bringing more awareness to rufugees and people with disabilities. Farah is the Youth Ambadssador for the United Nations, Adopt-a-Minefield, sponsored by Paul and Heather McCartney. The "Farah Appeal" has raised $200,000 in Farah's name to clear minefields all over the world.

My daughter read Farah’s book after reading "The Breadwinner" for a 5th grade book report. She thought it was so good that she told me I should read it too. We found it to be a very powerful book and were inspired by Farah’s ability to endure so many monumental trials. Surely God has been watching over her. I was touched by the number of times she said that finally someone could "see her" and I thought, how many times do we walk by people and not see them. We were so thankful for "Alyce" and her constant support of Farah and her mother. We pray for them to continue to heal in our country. The book is a very good read and hard to put down.
