A delightful coming of age story which begins with Julia and her husband Paul sailing to France in 1948. She doesn't speak French or have any idea how to cook. There's love, politics, humor, beautiful descriptions of locations--and of course, the FOOD! A lovely read

I savored every well written detail of her adventures both in the kitchen and out. Remind yourself while reading that this was the 1950's and what a different path she chose from most women her age. What a woman!

Wonderful book of Julia Child’s time in France & her "finding herself" with immersing herself into French culture & cooking.
