Shamanic Christianity : the direct experience of mystical communion
Keeney, Bradford P.
Adult Nonfiction BR127 .K44 2006
From Library Journal:
Keeney, author of Bushman Shaman, Aesthetics of Change, and several other works, presents a book by turns intriguing and infuriating. He begins with the notion that Christian missionaries to America were all too ready to discount Native Americans' claims that they had spoken directly with Jesus and then wonders if Christians have lost their feeling for direct apperception of the Divine. Readers must be careful to understand his "lost parables" as the author's visions, not substantiated by other sources. Included are many directives and exercises for the apt reader. For most collections. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
