The Mistborn series is one of the most original fantasy books that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. With an incredibly detailed backstory which mostly consists of the villain succeeding in killing the hero and conquering the world a thousand years previously at first, but which becomes more and more complex as time goes on, a developing heroine character, and a completly original system of magic, this is one of the best new books to emerge in a decade.

You have NOT, and I mean NOT, read fantasy until you've read this series. Seriously. This is real, amazing, astounding fantasy and I totally recommend it.
