We've all read our share of books concerning slvery and the South, the harsh treatments of Black Americans in our nations past, "Invisible Man" has forever changed how I think about out Nations past. Jack-the-Bear, the novels protagonist, is a gifted orator whos realization of his social invisiblity leades to a profound impact on the reader. Ellison spins a detailed story that is not soon to be forgotten, a must read.

Read this in high school, so I was shown the subtle symbolism and artistic style. May be worth reading the cliff-notes along with it.
