This book was good but ultimately disappointing. It seems to lead you on with certain asumptions that never pan out. I finished it but only to find out whodunnit.

A big and very well written book. The story is indeed complex, and, like life, doesn’t have an uncompromised happy ending. Be aware that it did win an Edgar for best first novel for that year.
