I did not like this book all over. The plot was a good idea, but it was executed is such a way as to make it boring and predictable. Some of the characters were interesting, but they didn’t have much depth.

When Olus, God of the Winds, wants to save Kezi, a mortal, from her fate as a sacrifice, he must find a way to make her immortal. They must endure tests of their bravery and cleverness. This well written and exciting tale may be too complicated for younger readers, but older grade schoolers through adult readers will find much to enjoy. It is a thought provoking story. Would be great for a children’s book club.

This book makes no sense at all. It is hard to follow the story line.

In this book a mortal, or "soap bubble" meets a god. He is Olus the akkan god of wind. The mortal Kezi has to sacrifice herself within the next month after she meets Olus. They have a month to spend together.... Or tot spend finding ways to save Kezi. Read this book to find out!

As ever, Gail Carson Levine has written a modern fairy tale that rivals our old favorites. I adore every new opportunity to read her work. Magical!
