Horrible, Horrible
I had originally checked out the print version of this book, and had a difficult time getting through the introduction and first chapter. So then I checked out the audio version. I found myself daydreaming of other things- shopping lists, what I needed to do when I got home- instead of listening and paying attention to the book. She lost me in her examples- which I thought went into too much unimportant detail. I did not think her observations into British culture were all that original, or unexpected. I thought it ended rather abruptly- no conclusion, no wrap up, no circling back to the beginning.
I would select other titles if you are looking for a peek into British culture. Or just ask anyone who has been there- their stories will be more interesting and personal. Her writing style lost me, and the content did not win me over either. Rather generic and the same tired examples- only updated names associated with them.
