This latest work from Lisa Yee is an edgy, moving, relevant coming of age story. The characters are 3-dimensional and loveable, and wonderfully diverse. This is literature that doesn’t assume everyone is white & straight & that there are perfect endings for everyone. A MUST READ!

Better than a lot of teen novels out there - though still complete with dysfunctional alcoholic mother and mysterious absentee father.

Sometimes the protagonist can be frustrating, but this is a book I really like. Even if it will never reach top ten in my mind.
