This book was my introduction to both ultramarathoning and the Tarahumara Indians. Included far more however (human evolution, genesis of many foot injuries, story of the Czech runner in the 1952 Olympics, etc.) Many interesting side stories and certainly worth a read. Learned that a Minnesotan is a leading ultramarathoner and that there are even races between humans and horses. Who would have guessed?
