The balance of careful and passionate argument, statistics and imagery makes this a compelling read. If human impact on an interconnected world is a cliche these days, Carson’s careful sharp indictment of pesticide use in the ’50s makes the image real and important. Highly recommended

Basically, this book is a truckload of propaganda about how we're killing all of the earth with pesticides. But if you can slog through the tedious language, it's worth reading.
