Glad to see such a strong finish to a great writing career. Spenser is hired to protect an art professor who is ransoming a stolen painting, but the professor is killed. Some of Parker’s later works have been pretty formulaic, not to mention short, but this is a Spenser in the old style - lively, substantial, intelligent and surprising. A good read!
