I was very exciting to read this book based on little more than the title and the cover, and while it starts off promising, it quickly gets bogged down in mediocre writing, flat characters, and an uninteresting story. The author says the photos throughout are actual photos found at flea markets that have only been minimally Photoshopped. The fact that the story serves the photos rather than vice versa becomes obvious and irritating in a very short time.

I was hoping for a much better written book, but besides the interesting pictures, there was not anything else good in the book. The plot was predictable and the characters were often frusterating. It was certainly a good plot idea, but many of the scenes didn’t quite make sense in regard to the all-over plot.

Have I mentioned all the photos are real and not altered?
