Summary: Anger... Fire... and Murder. A seventeen year old Black kid is murdered in Detroit after the worse riot in American history. The three white cops at the scene are released without charge. Robert Jackson, a Black decorated Vietnam veteran is devastated by the death of his younger brother. Thomas Riley, a white rookie cop witnesses the death and harbors a terrible secret. It is a tragedy? A cover-up? Or something much worse? Robert transforms into a deadly street detective, sending both men on a collision course with forces that will forever change their lives, their city and the entire nation. Each man struggles with the aftermath of murder and the changing relationship between the races and is plunged into his own heart of darkness. Robert vows to finds his brother's killers but is blinded by anger and sows the seeds of self-destruction for himself, his family and his unborn child. Thomas, racked by guilt and familial demons, begins a course of action that devastates his life, making him a traitor to his brothers in blue. As Robert gets closer to the truth about his brother's death, he forces Thomas to a dangerous confrontation. The two men are headed towards another bloody insurrection, but just as they peer into the abyss, an event occurs which galvanizes the world and uncovers the elusive killer and his shocking motive. In the end, they find truth, justice and freedom carry a price, which must be paid with the most precious of human currency. Dark Town Redemption is an epic murder mystery set against the backdrop of true events in the most violent and important year in American life.
