I sat down to read this book and found myself well up to fifty pages in before I put it down. (I admit the pages are short but I was loving the book) I was hoping for a ’how to’ book but it was more of a non-technical narrative. It was the story of a woman who got a bee in her bonnet about feeding her family with food she could feel good about. She cheerfully tells or her follies and failures as well as a few success. Spring Warren writes with an abundance of humor and whimsy. She seems almost a little nuts in a delightful way. She ends each short chapter with a delicious and simple recipe. She claims that her one year experiment inspired her to a new way of life and I felt the same way.
