This novel is written in a unique style I’ve never encountered before. Every paragraph is headed with things like "what the kids said" and "what the wife cooked". As veterinarian David treats horses and sheep, visits his comatose son and sees a UFO we become immersed in the large and small aspect of his life. Life. He is surrounded with it. The animals he treats, their owners, his family, even flies buzzing in his house in winter. This book is chock full of life. You’ll read it all in one gulp and wonder where the time went. It’s too short. Just like, ya know...
