Amatuer ultra distance runner Robin Harvie tries to answer this question while giving us a fantastic, enlightening and inspirational look at his own transformation from being a recreational runner to an ultra distance runner. He ran his first marathon on a bet & after yrs of running marathons & not becoming any faster he decided to try to run farther & in 2009 ran in the Spartatholon a 152 mile non-stop race from Athens to Sparta.
