This book is about a man who has been sailing in a ship where he is a crew member and soon the seas get really rocky and everyone on the boat gets flung off the boat. Quickly Robinson spots and island and swims toward it. Eventually he reaches it and has to find a way to survive on the island.

This book is very fun, once you get into it. The reading level is a little challenging because of the old language he uses, but the story is very fun and keeps you reading.

The book was interesting, but the plot wasn’t very engaging. The character of Robison Crusoe is arrogent and closed-minded at the beginning, and, although he finds God in his years marooned on the island, he still treats the other people he meets as though they are below him. The details were magnificent, though, and I was surprised to find out that this was the first novel ever written-in the early 18th century. I would highly recommend it, if merely because it is a well written classic.
