Cleopatra was a courageous girl who had to leave her lavish home in Alexandra, Egypt, and go with her father, the Pharaoh, to the stinking city of Rome to get an army to defeat the people who wanted to kill them. While away, Cleopatra’s older sister declared herself queen, telling Cleopatra and her father that they can never come back to the beautiful land of Egypt. Despite the poor chices Cleopatra made when she was older, this book about Cleopatra when she was younger is excellent.

cleopatra is a smart brihgt girl who some times sneaks out and acts like a normal person. Then when her father is in lifetaking danger he goes into hiding. But when he is gone the Eldest daughter declares herself queen . Then she sends a mesage that says if you two ever come back too Egypt they will be executed. He goes too Rome's king to ask for help.even though she is not the best queen she is the smartest daughter in my opinion.YOU SHOULD READ IT!!!!!

This is one of the books of the Royal Diaries. I used to love reading these when I was young, when I first started falling in love with history. But, as I learned more about Cleopatra, the less I liked this book. It is not historically acurate, and her character is nothing like I imagined her to be in real life. Even so, it isn’t a bad book, but don’t read it if you are looking for something historically acurate.

Grade 5 and up. Learn about the famous Egyptian ruler Cleopatra, in her own words! Written like a diary, this book invites you back in time to explore what life was like for the 12-year-old Egyptian princess.
