Since publishing her first novel in 1963, she has written over thirty books in many genres including science fiction, mystery, and fantasy. She and her husband, Damon Knight, taught many authors and helped establish the Clarion Writer's Workshop and the Milford Writer's Conference. She currently lives in Eugene, Oregon.
