This is my new favorite book. It is written entirely in letters but still has an incredible story and plot that lasts until the very last page. It made me laugh out loud several times, and is a book you'll want to read again as soon as you finish it. Highly recommended!

"Dear Miss Clarry,
It has come to our attention that you are incredibly bad at being a teenager.
Yours sincerely,
The Association of Teenagers"
This is just one of the letters Australian teenager Elizabeth Clarry writes and receives as she begins her first year of high school. Her best friend Celia has run away, her normally absent father is back in town, her communication with her mother consists of wacky notes left on the refrigerator, and an English assignment requires her to write to a Complete and Utter Stranger. A funny and touching coming-of-age story, Feeling Sorry for Celia is a best-seller in Australia and was a nominee for Best Book of the Year by the American Library Association.

Feeling Sorry for Celia is a great book told through letters and notes between Elizabeth Clarry, the main character, and her mom, pen pal, friends, and others. Sometimes this book is harsh and cold about Elizabeth, but other times it's beautiful and fun. The story is about Elizabeth and her pen pal, Christina's drama of their family, friends, boys, and high school life. Overall, I thought the book was exciting and funny, but sometimes a little unkind and hurtful.
