I would not recommend this book. I seldom start a book and don’t finish it, but this was a pompous, boring attempt by an author to convince readers of his superior intellect. I abandoned this book on the 3rd disc!

I found this story about two very different (from each other) couples, told over several decades, engrossing and worth the reading. Stegner is great at character development.
