From Library Journal:

Menard (The Latino Holiday Book: From Cinco de Mayo to Dia de los Muertos) assumes the role of the experienced adviser, examining aspects of relationships specific to Latinas, who are encouraged to discover and respect themselves as they struggle to balance contemporary and traditional lifestyles. Though readers may wish for consistency and brevity to counteract occasional aimless musing (e.g., on Hollywood Latinas), there is decent guidance, e.g., "self-love means you can look in the mirror and believe that you wouldn't want to be anyone else." Recommended to supplement self-help collections that should already own Sandra Guzman's informative and encouraging Latina's Bible: The Nueva Latina's Guide to Love, Spirituality, Family, and la Vida.
