Not at all his best work and I’m a big fan. However, I’m not a fan of torture, kidnapping and weasly political hacks that unfortunately comprise most of this story. Vince Flynn can write better than this as he has in the past. It saddens me to rate this only 4 of 10 stars but thats what it is.

Bummer. He ’phoned in’ the last two books too. That’s to bad. I heard he optioned the books in some type of film deal also, so like many writers he’s now set for life and probably doesn’t care anymore and is just fulfilling a book contract now.
I agree his politics are really annoying also. The first few books were pretty apolitical but it increasingly got worse as he ran out of original ideas.

Reading Vince Flynn books is a guilty pleasure. I hate that the books are so right-wing and enthnocentric, but there is no denying that they are fun to read and that this guy really knows how to write. OK, it’s all according to the same formula, but it’s impossible not to get caught up in the action. It’s another entertaining page-turner.
