Fans of Alex Cross will thoroughly enjoy this book. However, one criticism I have about this and other recent Cross novels is this: The punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Now, Cross is no Dirty Harry or rogue copy (á la The Shield), but couldn’t Patterson make the bad guys get their due just a bit more, especially after the brutality they inflict on their innocent victims? I’m just saying….

Good book, I enjoyed it. 7 of 10 for me.

Patterson is a great writer and this book is exceptionally well-written. It was hard to put this book down. In fact the book would have been perfect, except that the ending was very unsatisfying. It would have been so easy for this to have been rated A plus, but with the surprisingly weak ending, I’d have to rate it a B plus.
