This is an amazing book about a girl named Evie. When she moves in a empty dead Apple Orchard with her dad from Michigan to Beaumont, New York. Her mother had died when she was little and Evie wanted her more than anything. One day she was given a seed from the sister of the owner who waslong dead. He had told her to give it to a girl named Evie, but how could he have known. It was said that he was a curse and that was why the apple orchard was dead. Evie soon plants this seed with a boy named Alex who claims to be dead. They go into a town were everything was the exact opisite, but she discovers something, her mother's voice which leads her way through. TO find out what happens next read the book.

This book was surprisingly good, considering the plot didn’t sound great and the entire idea sounded depressing. But, in fact, the characters were rather interesting and it wasn’t half as sad as I thought it would be. What really struck me as interesting was the twists in the plot, which I never would have predicted. But I won’t give anything way. It might not be an epic book, but I enjoyed it.
