Definitely worth reading. I saw part of his lecture on a television special (the entire lecture is available online) but the book tells you more about Randy; his childhood, his parents, how he met his wife Jai and the birth of their three kids. The second half of the book is from the actual lecture where Randy discusses Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. Very moving, with great ideas on living a full life no matter how long you’ve got. This is one you will want to read more than once.

Unfortunately, the title of this audiobook is misleading. It is NOT an audio of "The Last Lecture" that Randy Pausch delivered at Carnegie Mellon University, which is what I expected. It is, instead, an audiobook about factors that led up to the lecture and comments about the lecture. To hear the actual lecture, go to YouTube.

I got this in audio version for a road trip. It is not actually his last lecture, contrary to the title. It is however, his story on what lead to him doing the lecture, his family, and comments about topics in his lecture with the background also. Despite this, it was still very good and quite worthwhile. It was a little over 4 hours on audio, so it killed some time during our long drive. It made my husband and I warm up and appreciate each other more, something needed after being in the car for two consecutive days, at 12 hours a day!
