John Corey is back after his confrontation with Asad Khalil from The Lion’s Game. How that episode ended still sticks in Corey’s craw, and I’m hoping he gets another shot at Khalil in a future book. In Night Fall, DeMille inserts one of the theories as to why TWA Flight 800 fell from the sky in a fireball in July, 1996. Corey looks into the crash based on evidence never made public during the initial investigation. To me, the story itself takes a back seat to John Corey’s personality and humor, his relationship with others and his reaction to events. By the way, Corey’s involvement takes place 5 years after the actual events, culminating in the fall… (’nuff said).
