I wish I could write like Jon Krakauer. Some authors are so good that anything they write is enjoyable to read. He is that kind of author. In this case, the subject matter is also equally interesting. This book is a collection of essays he has written about climbing. Frankly, I find it hard to understand why someone would want to climb a mountain, but Krakauer takes you into the heads of the leading climbers of the past 20 or so years. This book is an interesting and fast read. I highly recommend it (and any of his other books as well).
